The Lunula was one of the most important amulets for Slavic women. It symbolizes femininity and fertility. It was worn to ensure the favor of the gods, happiness, and protection from evil spells.
The oldest Lunula found in Poland dates back to the 3rd-4th century and is currently a part of the collection at the Archaeological Museum in Wroclaw. However, the symbol of the Lunula goes much further back, as the oldest ones found in the former Mesopotamia are dated to the 3rd millennium BCE, indicating that this symbol is at least five thousand years old.
